Qualifying Results

In a thrilling, rainy qualifying session on Saturday morning for the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama, Zach Robichon in the No. 98 Mark Motors Racing Porsche claimed the pole position for Race 1 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Due to the wet conditions, the 20-minute qualifying session saw lap times over 10 seconds slower than the fastest times posted in Friday’s two practice sessions. However, the weather is expected to improve over the course of the afternoon, just in time for Race 1’s start at 3:05 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Remo Ruscitti in the No. 96 OpenRoad Racing Porsche looked to have the pole position locked up with a time of one minute, 32.444 seconds (95.759 mph), but in the closing moments, Robichon crossed the stripe .039 seconds quicker with a lap time of 1:32.405 (95.799 mph) to take the top spot.

Ruscitti ended up second in the order, followed by Roman De Angelis in the No. 78 Mark Motors Porsche.

The starting lineup for Race 2, scheduled for Sunday at 11:20 a.m. ET, will be determined by the best time between the driver’s quickest lap time in Race 1 or his second quickest lap time in Saturday morning’s qualifying session.

Both races can be streamed live on IMSA.tv.
