Mark Motors Racing has signed Roman De Angelis to its team for the 2017 Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada season.

Just one week shy of his 16th birthday, De Angelis, from Belle River, Ontario, has been given a set of keys for a Porsche GT3 Cup car. De Angelis will be one of the youngest, if not the youngest, Canadian drivers to compete in the IMSA-sanctioned Single-Make Series.

Toronto-based Pfaff Motorsports will return to the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama with a four-strong full-season driver lineup, headlined by three champions and the addition of three new 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars to the Canadian series. Pfaff’s series effort includes 2014 GT3 Cup Canada Platinum class champion Scott Hargrove, 2015 Gold class champion Orey Fidani, series veteran and 2016 Gold class champion Shaun McKaigue and newcomer Ed Killeen.

Daniel Morad received one of his most-anticipated spoils of winning the Platinum Cup championship in the 2016 Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama - a new Porsche 911 Carrera.

Morad will have the pleasure of driving the car for one year, courtesy of Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd.

Morad Wins Inaugural IMSA North American Cup

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 5, 2016) – Daniel Morad completed a superb 2016 season of Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge competition by winning the inaugural IMSA North American Cup.

The IMSA North American Cup is presented to the Platinum Cup driver who earns the most combined points in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama and Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama while competing in at least two events (four races) in the series that is not their full-time championship.
